The Story Behind Uncommon

How a piece of Vermont land, a stubborn dream, and a lot of hard work became something worth sharing.

It started with land and a feeling.

In 2022, Tyler W. bought some land in Johnson, Vermont with almost no idea how to develop it. What he had was a stubborn belief that he could create something special. Something that connected people to the mountains, the rivers, and the quiet that makes Vermont unlike anywhere else. With time, hard work, and help from skilled local craftspeople, that land became Uncommon Accommodations: a growing collection of handcrafted tiny houses, cabins, a treehouse, and more. Each one designed to slow you down and bring you closer to the outdoors.

Meet Tyler W
Tyler grew up in Pennsylvania but found his place in Vermont drawn by the mountains, rivers, and adventure. He poured in his love of skiing, hiking, cycling, fishing, and just being in nature into every detail of every property.
