About the property

Perched among the trees and accessed via a private footbridge, this elevated modern A-frame feels like a true luxury treehouse retreat. Thoughtfully designed by local architect Raymond Boutin and expertly built by craftsman Todd Miller, the space blends contemporary comfort with timeless Vermont style. Inside, you’ll find maple veneer walls, Douglas fir beams, red oak stair treads, and rich Brazilian hardwood floors—all carefully selected to create a warm, refined atmosphere. The open living area features a sculptural round designer couch, a sleek indoor fireplace, and a full modern kitchen. A striking spiral staircase leads to a cozy loft bedroom nestled under the steep roofline. Step out onto the string-lit deck—suspended above the Lamoille River—for a serene coffee moment or a starlit glass of wine. Every detail, from the materials to the layout, has been crafted to offer a high-end, one-of-a-kind Vermont experience. Step outside and you’re just moments from the river, hot tub, and sauna, making it easy to build your own slow, restorative rhythm during your stay—morning coffee by the water, evenings under the stars, and deep, restful sleep. This sleek 1-bedroom A-frame blends modern design with cozy comfort. The space includes a full kitchen, bathroom, loft sleeping area accessed by a spiral staircase, indoor fireplace, roll-down projector for perfect indoor movie nights, comfortable seating, and a private deck overlooking the river—ideal for slow mornings and relaxed evenings. Guests have full private access to the A-frame treehouse via a keypad lock, including the private deck and all indoor amenities. You'll park just steps from the entrance, with an EV charger available on the property. Enjoy shared access to an on-site hot tub, and head down to the Lamoille River for a refreshing swim or peaceful spot to cast a fishing line. Whether you're here to relax, explore, or simply unwind in nature, everything you need is close at hand. Guests enjoy self check-in via a keypad for a smooth, contactless arrival. I give guests plenty of privacy but am always available by message if you need anything before or during your stay. Whether you have questions, need local tips, or run into any issues, I'm happy to help! Tucked away in the heart of Vermont's Green Mountains, the A-frame is part of Uncommon Accommodations—a unique riverside property just minutes from the village of Johnson. You'll find local cafés, breweries, galleries, and shops nearby, plus easy access to hiking, biking, skiing, and covered bridges. Centrally located between Stowe, Smugglers’ Notch, and Jeffersonville, this spot is perfect for exploring the best of Northern Vermont while enjoying a peaceful, wooded escape. A car is recommended for getting around and exploring the area. You'll have free parking right in front of the A-frame, and an EV charger is available on the property. We're centrally located between Stowe and Smugglers’ Notch, with scenic drives in every direction. In winter, 4WD or AWD is highly recommended due to Vermont’s snowy conditions and the hill in our driveway. This A-frame is part of Uncommon Accommodations, a small collection of unique stays on a 14-acre riverside property. While your treehouse is fully private, some amenities—including the hot tub, sauna, and river access—are shared with a small number of other guests. These amenities are typically used on a first-come, first-served basis and are rarely crowded. We provide high-speed WiFi (via Starlink), and the space is best suited for 1–2 adults. Please note the loft is accessed via a spiral staircase and may not be ideal for those with mobility challenges. Welcome to our newest gem at Uncommon Accommodations—a modern A-frame treehouse perched above the river with a shared riverside spa experience. Enjoy a year-round hot tub, brand-new treehouse barrel sauna, and river access for cold plunges. Inside you’ll find a full kitchen, bathroom, cozy loft, indoor fireplace, roll-down projector for movie nights, and a string-lit deck. A dreamy escape for couples or creatives seeking comfort, design, and nature.

Our stay at this beautiful A-frame in Vermont was the perfect weekend getaway for my boyfriend and me. Tyler was an incredible host — super communicative, thoughtful, and full of amazing recommendations for things to do and places to eat in the surrounding area. The house itself had everything we needed and more, with plenty of helpful information provided throughout our stay. We loved plunging in the river, relaxing in the treehouse sauna, and ending the nights in the hot tub under the stars. Such a peaceful, cozy escape — we already can’t wait to come back!
